If you are a skincare lover then you would know that the hunt for the perfect sunscreen is real! Over the course of years, I have found many good sunscreens but never the perfect one. After trying tube after tube of SPF from different brands, I may have just found the perfect sunscreen for my oily skin! It is the L’eau Shield SPF 50 Sunscreen Gel by Peau Care, an Indian skincare brand. This sunscreen comes in a gel form and claims to be non-greasy and sweat-resistant. Here is how it fared for my skin!

The Formula

The L’eau Shield SPF 50 Suncreen Gel is a gel-based chemical sunscreen that contains Sulisobenzone and Phenylbenzimidazole Sulphonic Acid to provide protection against UVA and UVB rays. It has an SPF 50, which is suitable for even those who are exposed to direct sunlight for a longer duration, provided that you keep reapplying the product every 2-3 hours. The gel has a light yellow hue that goes on completely transparent on the skin. It also has a pleasant fragrance in the tube but the scent does not linger on the skin, which is good for those who are sensitive to fragrances. The formula also contains aloe vera, which adds a soothing element to the product. Overall, the gel feels cooling and slightly hydrating on the skin.

The Texture

The L’eau Shield SPF 50 Suncreen Gel has a very light-weight texture and does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin. It sinks into the skin quickly and does not leave behind any white cast either. It feels slightly sticky for the first few minutes but quickly settles down to a completely matte finish. I feel that it tightens the pores as well, which is always welcome. What I love is that unlike other gel sunscreens that I have tried in the past that pilled slightly, this sunscreen does not pill at all, even if you rub your fingers on the face once it is set. This is why it works really well on its own as well as under makeup.

A lot of sunscreens start to feel heavy on the skin after a few hours, but I do not feel this sunscreen on my face at all no matter how much I layer it or how long I wear it. Therefore, the consistency of this sunscreen is perfect for all skin types, particularly for those with oily skin.

I think it is evident by now that I am head over heels in love with the L’eau Shield SPF 50 Sunscreen Gel! This is hands down one of the best sunscreens that I have tried for my skin type and I will be stocking up on this one for sure. Not only am I happy with the texture and consistency, I am glad that it is readily available in India and is not insanely expensive. At the price point of INR 475 for a 50ml tube, I feel that a lot of us will be able to purchase it without burning a hole in our pockets! If you have oily skin like mine then I will urge you try out this sunscreen asap! I am sure you will fall in love with it
